According to CNN, the Office of the United States Trade Representative released a list of Chinese products worth approximately $16 billion on Tuesday local time in the United States, and stated that starting from August 23, an additional 25% tariff will be imposed on the products on the list. This list mainly includes products that benefit from China's industrial policies (such as subsidies), including some chemical products (lubricants, plastics, etc.), mechanical products used for high-tech manufacturing, semiconductors, and semiconductor manufacturing machinery. Compounds such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), acrylic polymers, and polyurethane are all included in the list. It is worth noting that today's 16 billion yuan includes 279 items, which is 5 items less than the initial 284 items in the proposed list announced on June 15th. The reduction is in shipping containers, floating docks, and mechanical products used for sawing.
